It is well known that, compared to electric actuators, the cylinders can operate reliably under harsh conditions, and are simple to operate, and are basically maintenance-free. The cylinder is good at reciprocating linear motion, especially suitable for the most conveying requirements in industrial automation - straight handling of workpieces. Moreover, simply adjusting the one-way throttle valve mounted on both sides of the cylinder can easily achieve stable speed control and become the biggest feature and advantage of the cylinder drive system. Therefore, for users who do not have multiple positioning requirements, most of them prefer to use cylinders from the perspective of ease of use. At present, most of the applications of electric actuators in industrial fields require high-precision multi-point positioning, which is difficult to achieve with cylinders, and the second best result.
Electric actuators are mainly used for rotating and swinging conditions. The advantage is that the response time is fast and the speed, position and torque are precisely controlled by the feedback system. However, when it is necessary to complete the linear motion, the transmission needs to be converted by mechanical means such as a toothed belt or a screw rod, so the structure is relatively complicated, and the professional knowledge of the working environment and the operation and maintenance personnel are highly demanded.
